Ultrasonic Sensors use sound waves with frequencies higher than the audible range to measure
distance between the sensor and the target. Ultrasonic pulses are transmitted and the reflected
echoes are received. The sensor then measures "time of flight" to arrive at a distance.
Ultrasonic sensors operate independent of material, colour, light, or suspended particles like
smoke, steam or dust. Ultrasonic sensors provide an excellent non-contact, long range
sensing solution (up to 8 mtr.). Sensors are available with one or two set points, analogue
output, or serial interface.
